About
Born in Hainan, China, and raised in the US, Zi Xu is an illustrator who graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a B.F.A. in Illustration and Art History in 2018. She currently works in entertainment, creating illustrations, posters, and cover art for top clients in movies, television, and games. Like her background, her artwork is largely inspired by a mix of classical Chinese ink painting and 1950’s American editorial illustration.
Since launching her art career, Zi has become a brand ambassador for Adobe, completed an artist residency in Iceland, illustrated a Star Wars mural for Lucasfilm, created cover art for limited edition SteelBook releases such as Akira Kurosawa’s Ran and Chad Stahelski’s John Wick 4, done gig posters for bands such as Metallica and The Smashing Pumpkins, and was a guest artist at New York Comic Con 2021. In 2023, she won a Gold Clio for her work on the John Wick 4 Artist Series and decided to broaden her artistic repertoire by launching a second career as a fashion model.
Zi currently resides in Los Angeles and enjoys building cyberdecks, reading science-fiction novels, and practicing archery in her free time. She would love to work with you on your next project!
